The Search for the Dragon Slayer

As Lancer went down, Artoria stepped back toward the Masters, a second later deflecting another arrow meant for Avalon. She could tell the general direction it came from, but he was still out of sight. Even Philipus couldn't sense him within a mile's radius.

"Get behind Mashu's shield," Artoria ordered the Masters. "We'll take care of this Archer."

She leapt forward, heading in Archer's direction.

"Wait for me, Father!" Mordred sped after her.

The green vine curled and disappeared as Phillipus sighed. "I'm going to stay here. This could be an ambush tactic, and I'd feel better knowing you're all safe."

Far in the distance, as they approached, they saw the enemy Servant.



Archer raised his gigantic longbow. "Eeeny, meeny..." He drew an arrow and blue energy began to gather around it. "O' Great Bodhisattva of Arms, I beseech thy blessing upon this arrow! Hachiman Prayer!"

He let the arrow fly, then quickly strung another and fired it. Both arrows glowed as they soared through the air, then burst into flame. The fire took shape into two fiery-blue green dragons. One streaked toward Mordred, and the other toward Darius.

Darius was able to duck out of the way, but Mordred wasn't fast enough. It slammed into her like a freight train, the fire wrapping around her armor and throwing her backward.

She was able to keep moving, though, and quickly enough, the group caught up to Archer.

Just before Darius sprang forward, Mordred hopped onto his foot and held on tight to the straps of his sandals, launching themselves off and flying sword-first towards the Archer in the middle of the Berserker's arc!

Archer stood back, panting, covered in wounds. Realizing he wasn't going to survive this, he made a desperate decision. Channeling the rest of his mana into his next arrow, he took aim at the most wounded member of the party: Mordred.

"Hachiman Prayer!"

Darius stepped in the way of the fiery dragon as it materialized, and it struck him hard in the chest, pushing him back hard enough to almost knock Mordred over. Still, with his high Endurance, it didn't do quite that much damage to him.

Darius chuckled darkly as he brushed off the damage, and waited for the rest of the group to catch up so they could continue on.
