Hiding back behind Phillipus Aaron snorted with laughter after trying unsuccessfully to keep it in, "Say it with more feeling Phillipus! I don't feel the drama!"

He glared over his shoulder. "Well if you don't want to know what it really is..."

Mari waved her hands. "Come on, now's not the time for a lovers' spat! Eyes on the prize!!"

Aaron gave him a peck on the cheek and an extra push of mana behind his spell.

Phillipus looked at Ruler through the spell, but could see no difference. When he shouted, it seemed to enrage Jeanne.

She took a heavy blow from Artoria, and a light blow from Mashu.

The figure that had been lurking out of sight emerged from behind the throne.



He had a familiar face, and an even more familiar book in his hand.

"….. How dare you. How dare you, how dare you how dare you say such words! Even a Saint embraces anger, even a Saint embraces despair! This is, without a doubt, the true Jeanne d'Arc! I'll feed you to my pets for such blasphemous words!"

The spellbook flipped open in his hands. "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh..."

The bodies of the ten guards at the door jerked and twitched, and all at once split open, ten horrible tentacled monstrosities emerging, covered in spines and teeth.

At the last moment, they pivoted their heel into the soft earth and jumped towards the Caster, bringing Clarent down over their head. Phillipus smiled slightly. "Perfect."

Leaving a shadow behind, he shimmered away and sped as fast as he could behind Bluebeard and let loose a slip of vellum covered in sigils, hungry to latch itself to its target. [CURSE: SILENCE]

As Mordred leapt toward Caster, the two remaining demons not engaging the others leapt to catch the blow.

His words caught in his throat. Panicked and confused, he couldn't get any words out. Finally, he looked back and saw Phillipus grinning in satisfaction. His eyes bulged in a thoroughly disgusting way as he pointed toward Phillipus. All eight of the demons engaging the others broke off to rush the other Caster.

Jeanne stumbled back after taking two solid hits from Artoria and Mashu. Blood dribbled from her mouth. "I can't believe this... Everything I worked for..."

"Phillipus! To my side immediately!" A command spell disappeared on his hand as Phillipus disappeared from in front of the attacking demons and reappeared by Aaron's side.

He blinked, holding the Azoth, rocking slightly on his feet. "I-" He stopped his protest, then bent down to give Aaron a quick kiss on the forehead.

Jeanne, almost out of breath, turned to leap toward Mordred instead, trying to get her away from Gilles.

Mordred was knocked away, but quickly jumped back onto their feet and ran to the Caster, small explosions of mana sparking under their feet. Just one more strike!!
