Saving the Matou Line

Avalon laughed, "I woulda opened it for you, idiot! Oh wait, what do you guys say? Baka!" she tried to make the atmosphere as relaxed as possible and was more than thrilled that Mari had finally arrived so that she could speak with the girl. Scathach waited outside the car.

Mari laughed back at Avalon. "Of course that's the kind of words you decide to learn! I can teach ya worse if you ever need it!"

She sat up, propping a foot up on the console. "We're your friends. We're Masters, yes, but we wanna help you. The guy who adopted you? Wrinkly ballsack of evil? We're here to help you get away. You're my -" She stopped short and let out a breathy laugh. "This is absurd, you're like 14, right? Anyways, that makes you my aunt."

"Since we're family, I wanna offer you a safe space away from Zouken with my parents. Or if you want to stay with us, maybe you can help us with our project. There's more to this than just fighting, and there's a lot you don't know."

Ayaka smiled, but visibly relaxed. "Wait... So you're really a Matou? I didn't know there were any others around my age... You really don't want to hurt me? What about Assassin?"

Avalon scoffed, "Assassin ran her damn mouth off."

"What she said. I didn't even know I was a Matou until a few days ago, so I doubt Zouken knew I existed either. Assassin was..." She scratched her chin. "Not like an accident, but we didn't mean to kill her. We really did want everyone to work together, she was just a bitch." She shrugged.

"Oh..." She wrang her hands. "I guess that... sounds like her." She took a deep breath. "Alright, I guess I believe you. If you are related to grandpa, you'd have every reason to hate him. So... what happens now?"

"You can come back to our home base, and then I'll call my dad. He'll help us out, and hopefully the old man will cut his losses."

"Oh! but make sure she knows if he doesn't cut his losses we'll protect her!" Avalon was at least thankful she was better at listening and understanding japanese than she was at speaking it.

"Okay..." she slumped back in her seat.

Avalon unlocked the doors and led the girl inside. "I'm gonna say no school today. You've had a rough one." Scathach followed her master, smiling kindly at the girl. "This will be a good place for you. The people here are very kind, and if you wish, there's a lot you can learn."
