Theater Kids: The War Begins

A few days after the mysterious letter arrived, Avalon was casually hanging out with Mari. They had just finished doing a perimeter patrol, when the mark on her hand tingled. She heard a message inside of her...well not so much heard as felt. The war had finally begun. She called accross the room to Mari, "Hey girl! Did you just get the same thing I got?"

"The war's on, isn't it?" She paused. "Where's Hachi and Saber??" A bird flew in through a skylight window and dropped another letter.

"Ugh. Again?" Avalon reached up and caught the letter, opening it to read the contents as she made her way closer to Mari.

Lancer remained up in the catwalk, keeping her presence hidden and quietly surveying. With the war begun, she concentrated on making sure she could detect any incoming presences form other servants.

Saber lifted their sword in the air, standing on stage. "Lancer! The War has begun! Face me!" Mari ran down the center aisle, arms pumping hard.

"Whaddya think you're doin'?? What part of 'working together' don't you understand??" She glared at the Servant. "Besides, we got another letter!" Saber shook their head.

"We have one purpose to be in this world, and that is to fight. You are not my Master; I will only listen to what she has to say on the matter."

Scathatch remained on the catwalk, but stood, holding her spear aloft. "If that is what you wish, foolish child, then so be it," she smirked and drew her spear back, ready to attack.

"No! Holy shit both of you! No fighting! Mari is right! We are working TOGETHER. That means you two don't fight each other til we say so!" she had dropped the letter and was gesturing for Mordred to sheathe her sword.

The horned helmet swiveled from Avalon to the catwalk. Saber hesitantly sheathed their sword, Mari heaving a sigh of relief.

"You too, Hachi! We need to find out what these fancy folks got to say first!"

"Of course," the warrior replied, putting her weapons away. She had no love for her fellow servant and was excited for a battle, but she was happy to get along if that was what was necessary.

"Thank you. Jeez..." Avalon bent and picked up the letter, heading over to Mari so they could both read it. "Hm...looks like they still wanna meet with us..."

"We might as well. D'you think we might get ambushed on the way, though?"

"Considering I haven't sensed your servant most of the time, maybe we can use that to...counter-ambush? Either way we can at least go check it out if they're gonna be so persistent. Since the war has started, getting in a battle shouldn't be a problem! You in?" she smiled at her companion, confident that their combined powers could easily stand against whoever came at them.

Mari gave Avalon a confident grin and nodded. "Let's go!!"

And with that, the two packed up their servants and made their way to the mansion, Scathatch keeping herself hidden on the way there, but keeping a close eye on the group.
